Where Arts and Heritage Collide Walking Tour

A walking tour of Granville Island’s past, present and future taking place on both Friday and Saturday afternoon of our conference. Explore BC’s best known place making experiment with professional (and entertaining) guides. Each tour group is capped at a maximum of 20 people, so please sign up in advance in order for us to have the appropriate amount of guides on hand. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather - tours last just slightly longer than one-hour. These tours are free but your tour host certainly won’t say no to a gratuity. Spaces are limited so register in advance!

TheatreSports Improv Evening!

Straight after our beer and burger early registration at the Backstage Lounge, we will be meeting at Granville Island's Improv Centre for a high-energy comedic performance featuring Canada's award-winning improv troupe! Kick off "PlaceMaking: Where Arts and Heritage Collide" with a bang! Relying on razor-sharp wit and lightning-fast reflexes, two teams of performers are pitted against each other in competitive improv matches. Using our arts and heritage suggestions to fuel scenes, the teams must create totally improvised situations on the spot. The audience will have the opportunity to vote for the winner in this hilarious comedy face-off. Tickets are only $20 and are open to non-delegates. Register online by clicking on the below link, or take your chances at the door. (If you're not attending the conference, fill in your contact information and then click-through to 'Special Events'.)

Education Credits

Education is a top priority at the conference. This year we have selected speakers and topics based on our members' evaluations from past conferences. Expand your skill sets and earn PIBC and AIBC credits by attending our presentations, workshops and tours!

Participants are eligible for PIBC Continuous Professional Learning Units, and 1.5 Core & NonCore AIBC credits are now available for selected workshops!

If you don't make the online registration deadline, you will be able to pay at the door by credit card or cheques made out to "Heritage BC." We look forward to seeing you on Granville Island!
