The Burnaby Art Gallery is seeking an auxiliary Fine Arts Leader to support in the Visual Arts area. This position will provide guidance to Fine Arts instructors while maintaining the smooth operations of programs at the Burnaby Art Gallery, as well as preparing and maintaining records, reports, and equipment and supply inventories. The successful incumbent will have sound knowledge of safe work practices and be comfortable dealing with the public and will prepare studios and classroom spaces for use, ensure classes and instructors are supported, assist with general administrative duties and displays and marketing. Fine Arts Leaders will also perform other related work as required.

The successful incumbent will possess a two year community college course in a Fine Arts speciality including courses in teaching and some related instruction experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful incumbent will maintain effective relationships with staff and patrons, while assisting the Programmer. Highlighted abilities for this role include strong customer service skills, self-motivation, superior communication skills and the ability to work independently. A Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is also a requirement for this position. Experience with the CLASS registration system is considered an asset.

Our team is looking for this person to work up to 28 hours a week. Hours and schedules are determined in advance by our team based on our operational requirements. If you are interested in this Fine Arts Leader opportunity, please submit your application as indicated below.
