The Heritage Branch, operating within the Integrated Resource Operations Division, encourages and facilitates the recognition and safeguarding of B.C.’s cultural heritage through the development and implementation of tangible and intangible heritage policies and programs. The Heritage Branch currently manages programs related to heritage capacity building, geographical names, historic places recognition, fossil management and the stewardship of physical heritage resources.
The position is responsible for providing support to the Manager of Heritage Programs and Services to meet his/her work plan responsibilities. This position focuses on the development of strategic policy and legislation to support the implementation of the Heritage Branch’s strategic objectives.
