Each year BC Heritage Awards recognize outstanding and significant achievements in cultural heritage and conservation in four categories:
recognizing the best practices of built heritage rehabilitation, rejuvenation, re-use, and environmental resilience.
Education, Communications and Awareness: recognizing excellence in programming that advances the appreciation, understanding, and practice of tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
Heritage Professionals: this award is presented in two categories:
Distinguished Service Award: recognizing long-time volunteers for their significant contributions and leadership in their communities.
Please select the award category for which you wish to make a nomination. If you wish to make multiple nominations, please complete one submission at a time, completing one nomination at a time.
You may include up to five individuals or representatives of organizations for Conservation, Education, Communications and Awareness and Heritage Professionals. For conservation projects, the nominees may include the property owner, heritage consultants, architects, contractors, trades, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: the information you provide will be considered complete and accurate. Please ensure the list of individuals is complete, and names have been properly spelled.
The Conservation, Education, Communication and Awareness, and Planning and Management award categories recognize up to five individuals or representatives from organizations who contributed to the success of a project.
For conservation projects, nominees may include the property owner, heritage consultants, architects, contractors, trades, etc.
For Distinguished Service, please provide the name of an individual or the individuals in a group.
For Lifetime Achievement, please provide the name of an individual.
For Conservation projects: before and after photographs should be submitted, as well as final schematic plans, or working drawings, in colour. High resolution JPG images are preferred to enable the jury to review the project in detail.
For Education, Communication and Awareness projects: please submit electronic copies of publications. Digital materials such as websites, interactive displays or copies of exhibit boards, may also be uploaded along with photos, and any other visuals.
For Planning and Management projects: please submit electronic publications and reports (e.g. conservation plans, community plans).
For Distinguished Service and Lifetime Achievement, please include photographs.
For all categories, PDF documents or scanned images of letters, news clippings, or other materials may also be uploaded.
