Located north of Prince George, this place is valued as an area where several French Canadian newcomers settled, and grew their families and livelihoods from the early 1900s onward. Land was given to settlers by the Crown, then cleared and farmed by each family. Names associated with Salmon Valley include Cheramie, Renaud, DeGrasse, LePlant, Lacasse, Caron, and Beauregard. The community remains unincorporated and rural, reflective of a way of life in earlier times in its development.
