SUMMARY:LDHS Annual Heritage Awards
DESCRIPTION:The Ladysmith and District Historical Society will be celebrating BC Heritage Week with several events  during the month of February. The highlight will be our Annual Heritage Awards Presentations on  February 26th at 5:30pm at the Ladysmith Secondary School. \nThe highlight of the evening will be a special “Stir the Pot”dinner in conjunction with the students that are participants in the schools First Nations’s “Land and Language”program.( tumuxul’ “i”hul’qum’i”num ‘qun ta’ta tul-s ct). \nhis dinner is offered to the everyone in accordance with Stz’uminus culture and tradition. All are welcome (Non First Nations people and First Nations alike) and there is no charge for the dinner. \nThe dinner will follow the presentation of the Society’s Heritage Awards \nThe Award will be presented to: \n\nLocal artist Michel Dean  for documenting local heritage thought his many painting’s\nMicchal Robinson for his Heritage Timeline in conjunction with the Ladysmith and District Credit Union\nBruce Masion  for his cultural contributions  and work in refurbishing the Old North Oyster School into an active and dynamic home for our little theater group’.\nLadysmith Secondary School’s land and Language Program  which is an innovative\, immersive curriculum for students in grades  10-12. The program focuses on Coast Salish Language and culture through land based experiential learning
