Ahoy, Ladysmith community! It’s that time of the year when we throw open the doors of our maritime haven and welcome you to a day filled with nautical wonders. Join us on Monday, 19 February 2024, from 10:00 am to 03:00 pm, as we share the maritime heritage that makes our town truly special.
Heritage Boat Restoration Introduction
Step into our award-winning Heritage Boat Restoration program at “The Car Shop” on 16 Oyster Bay Drive, Ladysmith. Get up close and personal with our ongoing restoration projects, including the almost-completed overhaul of the Sudbury, a motorized tug tender gearing up for the 2024 season.
Meet “Dorothy’s” original Dinghy
The beautifully restored sailing vessel “Dorothy,” originally completed in 1897 was re-launched in 2023. This historic project created quite a stir in Ladysmith and in the world of wooden boats and has been nominated for the 2024 Classic Boat Awards. Witness the beginning of the restoration journey for “Dorothy’s” original dinghy.

Engage in delightful conversations with our “Car Shop” volunteers while sipping on hot coffee or tea and treating yourself to a delicious cookie.
Free Harbour Tours on the “Kirkegaard”
Embark on a maritime adventure with free harbour tours departing from the public boat launch at the Fisherman’s Wharf boat ramp (837 Ludlow Road, Ladysmith Harbour). Tours are scheduled at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 01:00 pm, 02:00 pm, and 03:00 pm. Due to high demand, please book in advance by emailing [email protected] with the subject line “Harbour Tours.” Each tour accommodates a maximum of 10 passengers on a first-come-first-served basis.
