Poster Installation: Learn About the Vancouver Block Clock Tower’s Restoration

A peak behind the scenes of the landmark clock tower’s ongoing rehabilitation!
After months of meticulous restoration, we are delighted to be in the final stages of the refurbishment of the Vancouver Block’s 112 year old clock and clock tower. Over the coming weeks, the scaffolding will be removed and the clocks’ hands reinstalled – with new energy-efficient LED lighting to replace the aging neon. Behind the scenes, prominent horologist Raymond Saunders of Landmark Clocks has been hard at work dismantling, cleaning, and refinishing the clocks’ motor with the diligent assistance of AllStar Waterproofing and Restoration Systems, who have been working on the tower’s façade rehabilitation and installation of the clocks’ new LED lighting.
The restoration that we have been undertaking is work performed only once in a hundred years and we are excited to be able to document and share its progress. This poster installation is located in the lobby’s elevators – and will be updated following its unveiling. Stay tuned for your opportunity to tour the clock tower in person later this year!
