Come learn more about our “Raised in Chinatown” exhibit!
“Raised in Chinatown” delves into the stories of youths forging their own identities as Chinese Canadians from the 1910s to 1960s. This companion event will feature the memories of three fascinating individuals who grew up in the neighbourhood.
Donna Chan captained the Chinese Girls Drill Team, Elwin Xie was raised behind the counter of his parents’ Union Laundry, and Peter Joe turned his family’s business Sunrise Tofu into a mainstream staple.
