Surrey Remembers
The Surrey Historical Society (SHS) has teamed up with the Cloverdale United Church (CUC) to host a dual event on February 22, 2025.
The SHS will be highlighting games and activities that our ancestors enjoyed to relax after long days of work. There will be display boards, photos and artifacts on display as well as a children’s play area where they can enjoy some games of the past. There will be adult and children’s trivia contests and a scavenger hunt for the little ones, with prizes. Refreshments will be served at “Tea Time”.
The Cloverdale United Church is a Designated Heritage building in the heart of Cloverdale, built in 1950 (75 years ago). They will be commemorating the founding of The United Church of Canada (100 years ago in 1925), the founding of the United Church of Cloverdale as a congregation (also in 1925), as well as the establishment of the first religious congregation in Surrey 150 years ago.
