Use our Heritage Week Calendar to find events. Filter by cost, location, kid-friendly, virtual and more!
When you attend an event, take a photo, tag us at @heritagebcanada, and use #BCHeritageWeek to show your support for the conservation and ongoing stewardship of heritage in BC!
Okaeri means ‘to come back home.’ We invite you to listen to stories of Japanese Canadians who lived through war and internment, and those who were forcibly uprooted to Japan and later returned to Canada in the 1950s. This webinar is an introduction to 21 oral histories which launch on Youtube during Heritage Week.
Panelists will share their story highlights: Dr. Aki Horii, Frank Kamiya, Yvonne Wakabayashi, Miki Hirai
Host: Laura Saimoto
Presented by Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre and Vancouver Japanese Language School & Hall
