Museum/Heritage Site Interpretive Guide
8-week position, 35 hours per week
Anticipated start: June 17, 2024
Rate: $20/hour

This position is partially funded through Canada Summer Jobs and is open to eligible applicants
who are students aged 18 to 30.
The Friends of Fintry Provincial Park Society has an opening for a full-time interpretive guide at
the Fintry Estate manor house and barns. The employee will receive hands-on work experience
and job training in museum/heritage-site work and research pertaining to the Fintry Estate’s
history.
Responsibilities include:
1. leading and helping with museum tours and programs;
2. taking bookings;
3. helping with museum events, lectures, educational programming and outreach;
4. digitizing the collection, presentations and activities.
The guide will greet visitors, help with administrative tasks, manage the museum gift shop and
work with staff and volunteers in museum projects and research. Weekend work is required.
This is an ideal opportunity for a student in history, museum studies, education or
ecology/zoology who’d like to gain practical experience in their field.
