Creating more accessibility in heritage buildings is an integral part to making sure that heritage is welcoming of everyone in our communities. This webinar provides an overview to increasing heritage building accessibility for organizations looking at embarking on this journey. Laura covers historic views of persons with disabilities, models and theories about disability, standards that are in place to provide a baseline, access audits and how to perform them, and resources that are available for heritage organizations.
About the Presenter:
Laura Saretsky completed her masters dissertation on accessibility in Heritage. As program manager at Heritage BC, her major responsibilities included administering grant programs, conducting economic impact surveys, supporting community advocacy, and developing relevant learning and education opportunities and programs.
