The following funding resources could be helpful to heritage organizations. This is not an exhaustive list of funding resources and Heritage BC does not guarantee the information, which can change from time to time.

McConnell Foundation

A grant database and resources for multi-sector environmental groups. Focus on climate, communities and reconciliation.

Charity Village

National online database for jobs in the non-profit sector. Includes a grants database. No subscription required.

Civic Info Funding Directory

A grant database for local governments.

Environment and Climate Change Canada

A funding database to help connect funding and resources with environmental projects.

Environmental Grantmakers Association

A list of useful websites for environmental grant-seekers.

Restoration Research Center

Funding list & resources for restoration projects in Canada, US, and worldwide. Provides tips on how to write grant proposals.

Government of Canada - Culture, History & Sport Funding

A myriad of funding programs that support culture, history, heritage, sport and official languages in Canada. See website for complete list.

Resources, webinars, and a searchable funding database to support Canadian charities.

National Trust for Canada

This website provides a list of funders for leadership, research, youth, arts and more.

Province of BC Economic Development funding database

Database created by the Province of BC for Economic Development Funding & Grants.

VOC Outdoor Grants

A list of grants for a variety of outdoor expeditions available to Canadians.

Indigenous Services Canada

A compiled list of grants for First Nations organizations and applicants.

Grant Connect

A website / tool  (with membership fees) that supports non-profits to identify granting opportunities and find funding solutions. Some public libraries have a subscription for in-library use (ie: Nelson & Cranbrook). Basic subscription plan provides access to over 3,000 Canadian grant maker profiles and the premium plan over 10,000 funder profiles. Good for medium and large non-profits.

Information for environmental organizations to promote green gift planning as a solution to long-term funding concerns.

Comprehensive Community Planning for First Nations in British Columbia

The CCP Handbook (Comprehensive Community Planning for First Nations in British Columbia - Third Edition) provides various tools for project implementation. Also included is a list of funding sources for First Nations.

Innoweave

A site for community organizations to learn about, select, and implement new tools and approaches to generate greater impact and advance their missions. Multiple resources and learning modules, including one on social financing.
