Heritage Legacy Fund awards $90,000 in grants

Following a rigorous adjudication process, 17 heritage projects will be receiving $90,000 in grants. Heritage Legacy Fund Update: The Potato House

Based in the downtown core of Williams Lake is the 1940s heritage property, and 2015 Heritage Legacy Fund project, The Potato House.The house was built by true Cariboo Pioneers, the Borkowski Brothers, who learnt their trade through a railway library loan, reading by lamplight at night and setting to work building houses the next day.  Eventually creating a whole block, which became known as the “Borkowski Block”.
