How to Get There

You can get to Nelson by bus, by driving or by flying to either the Castlegar Airport or Trail airports.

By Plane:
For those who choose to fly through Castlegar, public buses run between the Castlegar Airport and Nelson. BCAA members who choose to fly Pacific Crest to the Trail Airport receive a 10% discount on airfare, but the distance to Nelson is farther, requiring a car rental.

By Car:
If you are planning on getting to the conference by car, you are not alone! To help coordinate conference delegates who plan to drive to Nelson, we have created a spreadsheet to share your travel information. Both drivers and passengers can use the spreadsheet to find colleagues to travel with. If you would like to use this resource to plan your travels to the conference, please send Nathalie an email at [email protected]. She will add you to the spreadsheet. Once given access to this spreadsheet, we ask that you please do not publicly share any of the personal information shared within it. Please be respectful of your colleagues as you plan your travel.

For detailed suggestions about transportation options to Nelson visit the Nelson & Kootenay Lake Tourism Website.

As an organization of provincial scope, Heritage BC recognizes that its members, and the local history and heritage they seek to preserve, occupy the lands and territories of B.C.’s Indigenous peoples. Heritage BC asks its members and everyone working in the heritage sector to reflect on the places where they reside and work, and to respect the diversity of cultures and experiences that form the richness of our provincial heritage.
