Heritage BC maintains a strong partnership with the Provincial Heritage Branch, facilitating numerous collaborative efforts to administer grant funds supporting heritage projects throughout the province.

We continue to advocate at a provincial and national level on behalf of the sector for the funding of heritage conservation, awareness and planning projects across the province.

Funds administered by Heritage BC on behalf of the Government:

» Community Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program (CERIP-UHI) (2021)

The Province of B.C. allocated $16-million to the Unique Heritage Infrastructure stream of the CERIP program. Heritage BC received a record 159 applications, and juries ultimately selected 68 projects across the province to receive the funding.

» 150 Time Immemorial Grant Program (2022)

Heritage BC managed a funding envelope of $10-million to support reconciliation, learning, diversity, inclusivity, and resiliency through cultural heritage infrastructure, awareness, and planning. 92 projects in 54 communities across the province received funding.

As an organization of provincial scope, Heritage BC recognizes that its members, and the local history and heritage they seek to preserve, occupy the lands and territories of B.C.’s Indigenous peoples. Heritage BC asks its members and everyone working in the heritage sector to reflect on the places where they reside and work, and to respect the diversity of cultures and experiences that form the richness of our provincial heritage.
