Webinar : Breaking Barriers: Why People with Interest Do Not Visit – And What to Do About It

About the Webinar:

In this webinar, the IMPACTS Experience team breaks down visitor data from cultural institutions, including some specific statistics from British Columbia. They offers analysis on the top 4 barriers to entry that they identified in their research and introduce strategies to reach inactive audiences based on that information.

About the Presenters:

Colleen Dilenschneider is the Founder & Managing Member at IMPACTS Experience, a company providing data and analysis to visitor-serving organizations across the world. She is the author and publisher of Know Your Own Bone, a website that shares ongoing research and analysis about how potential visitors to museums and performing arts organizations think and behave.

Jim Hekkers is the Chief Strategy Office at IMPACTS Experience. He is the former managing director at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Jim specializes in leveraging his extensive executive experience in the world of visitor-serving organizations to help leadership at nonprofit organizations improve strategic planning, management, and market research.

Bethany Gotschall is the Project Coordinator at IMPACTS Experience and Know Your Own Bone. She creates content and provides editorial and graphic design support for IMPACTS Experience.

As an organization of provincial scope, Heritage BC recognizes that its members, and the local history and heritage they seek to preserve, occupy the lands and territories of B.C.’s Indigenous peoples. Heritage BC asks its members and everyone working in the heritage sector to reflect on the places where they reside and work, and to respect the diversity of cultures and experiences that form the richness of our provincial heritage.
